Taeil's expulsion from NCT due to a sexual offense case was disclosed by SM Entertainment.
Fans were shocked when SM Entertainment abruptly announced the news on social media on August 28. Taeil has been kicked off NCT after being linked to a sexual crime in a criminal case, according the label's website.
According to SM Entertainment, it said:
"This is SM Entertainment.
It has just come to our attention that Taeil is involved in a criminal case involving a sexual crime. Taeil will no longer be able to carry out his team duties, and following conversations with him, we have chosen to remove him from the group after confirming the relevant facts and acknowledging the gravity of the issue. Taeil is now really assisting the authorities with their investigation, and we plan to release further information as the inquiry develops.
We sincerely regret any worry and inconvenience that our artist may have caused."
