Rosé of BLACKPINK is in talks to deal with producer Teddy's label, The Black Label.
The rumor that Rosé will be signing a deal with The Black Label surfaced on the 17th.
The Black Label responded by telling DongA.com that they are "in discussions."
Teddy, who was a member of the band 1TYM, started the entertainment firm The Black Label in 2016. Artists including Park Bo-gum and Lee Jong-won, singer Jeon Somi, Zion.T, and member of BIGBANG Taeyang are all affiliated with the firm.
Since 2016, Rosé and Teddy have been involved in active collaboration as members of BLACKPINK and group producers.
In the meanwhile, last year Rosé and the other members of BLACKPINK pulled off the biggest world tour ever for a K-pop girl group, "BORN PINK," drawing in close to 1.8 million fans. Furthermore, they interacted with around 2.115 million people overall from their appearances at the Coachella Festival in the United States (which drew 250,000 guests over two days) and Hyde Park in the United Kingdom (which drew 65,000 attendees).
Rosé and YG Entertainment have been working together but separately since the end of the previous year. They decided to carry on their group activities with YG and pursue their own separate solo endeavors.
As a result, each member of BLACKPINK has now created a base for their own activities. Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo all established their own labels for their solo projects before Rosé.
In December of last year, Jennie made an announcement on the launch of her own label, Odd Atelier (ODD ATELIER, OA). Through her own label, LLOUD, Lisa has been pursuing her solo endeavors since February of this year. With her elder brother's backing, Jisoo formally declared in February that she was going to launch her own record label, BLISSOO.
