Reactions against Soyeon of (G)I-DLE are reported to be directed at 4th gen idols

Over the course of the last two days, from August 3–4 KST, (G)I-DLE performed at their 2024 tour's "iDOL" Seoul concert at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Songpa District of Seoul.

"Is this bad b****** number?" was Soyeon's solo song at the concert, and she said, "Contract ends in November, who's got the gall to cross?" On the big screen behind her, the lyrics were clearly visible.

There have been rumors that this sentence was directed towards idols from the fourth generation. The words that follow are as follows:

Please get out of my way, little ones.

Okay, so if you want to dance, then go ahead and dance.

Clowns who lack tone, you have no place in our game.

Take a microphone if you're a singer, or don't come.

Write your bars if you're a rapper, then go ahead and perform. I don't care; I'll say it out and I'm not scared.

Hello, cute puppy, behave like a dog.

This is our subject, and our goal is to dominate.

Please give me a call at this number if you're feeling lost.

November is the end of the contract; who has the audacity to cross?

I'm immune to harm; I've already paid the price.

Reactions from netizens were divided.

Several remarks offered their endorsement:

"It's nice; I hope idols these days debut with real talent."

"So cool, if she’s leaving her agency, I hope she raps without holding back in the future."

Some expressed harsher criticism:

"Isn't she dissing her own teammates who can’t sing?"

"Does she think she's some great singer or diva?"

"Soyeon is incredibly arrogant; can't she rap with some humbleness?"

"Mind your own business, lol."

In the meanwhile, Soyeon's management issued a statement clarifying that the line "contract ends in November" in her solo rap was a spontaneous action by the artist.
