RBW confirmed that MAMAMOO’s Wheein will not renew her contract with the agency, but she will continue MAMAMOO group activities.
On June 11, RBW announced the following statement:
Hello, this is RBW.
First, we would like to thank everyone, including MooMoo both in Korea and overseas, for loving and giving support to MAMAMOO.
We have renewed our contracts with three of MAMAMOO's members: Solar, Moonbyul, and Hwasa. We promise to give them our support so that they can achieve their dreams in music activities and various fields based on mutual faith and trust.
MAMAMOO’s Wheein has been in in-depth discussions with us for a long time, but she decided not to renew her contract in the end, and we would like to inform you that our exclusive contract with her will be terminated.
We fully respect Wheein’s decision, and sincerely wish Wheein, who is starting a new chapter in life, happiness and good luck. We would like to deliver our thanks to Wheein for spending the past 7 years with us.
However, all four members have unchanging affection for MAMAMOO, so Wheein signed an extended agreement to participate in some activities, including albums and concerts, until December 2023. MAMAMOO’s music will continue as much as the great love fans have sent them, and we will notify you of the specific future activities later.
MAMAMOO is currently preparing a summer concert. They will plan to show good music and activities separately and together as MooMoo’s closet friend, so please keep giving them warm encouragement and support.
