The cast and crew of Mnet's 'Street Woman Fighter' season 2 gathered for a press conference on August 17 morning KST in anticipation of the show's upcoming launch.
On this day, the team captains from the eight competing crews of season 2—1MILLION, BEBE, DEEP N DAP, Jam Republic, LadyBounce, Mannequeen, TSUBAKILL, and Wolf'Lo—met with the primary PD Kim Ji Eun and the MC Kang Daniel. Along with special judges Rie Hata and Aiki, this season's fight judges Monika and Shownu from MONSTA X also made a visit to discuss the upcoming season.
Prior to this, MC Kang Daniel encountered criticism twice when serving as an MC on the male version of "Street Woman Fighter," "Street Man Fighter."
Kang Daniel said, "Honestly, I feel so much more comfortable filming with men," during filming "Street Man Fighter," in response to strong criticism from online users who saw the MC's statement as being "sexist." I'm overjoyed that I'm not losing energy. When I played "Street Woman Fighter," I was really afraid of them. Also, Kang Daniel was then criticized for mistaking the competitor brand ('TREVI') for the fizzy beverage company ('Seagram's') that was a sponsor of the show during the live conclusion of 'Street Man Fighter'.
Now, Kang Daniel said, "I spent much time contemplating on myself and my actions, during the press presentation for 'Street Woman Fighter 2'. I was concerned that I wasn't qualified to serve as an MC, but I was lucky enough to receive a request from the production team to come back. I like that they see me as a valuable member of the group. The public's perception of you as the program's MC must be positive moving forward. Please watch the show to see how I perform; I'm doing my best not to cause any trouble for anyone.
