According to News 1 on May 5, IU donated 100 million KRW (~ $78,767 USD) to the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation for the 100th anniversary of Children's Day. The donation from IU will be used to support living expenses for low-income single-parent families, children raised by grandparents, and facility renovation supporting children.
Since IU's debut, has been donating every year since 2015 to children in need, especially on Children's Day. This year, as she celebrates the 100th anniversary of Children's Day, she shared her warmth with more meaningful good deeds.
Also, IU has been selected as an icon of good deeds since her debut in 2008, as she has consistently donated to those in need, social disasters caused by COVID-19, floods and forest fires, and low-income families.
