On December 30, Jellyfish Entertainment announced the following official statement that Gugudan will be disbanding.
"Hello, this is Jellyfish Entertainment.
First of all, we would like to thank the fans who loved and supported Gugudan. We would like to make an official announcement regarding Gugudan's group activities.
Even though all members worked hard and recieved much love from fans, we have decided Gugudan will officially end their group activities on December 31, 2020 after a lengthy and serious discussion.
Although Gugudan's group activities will come to an end, we will make our best effort to each of the members' individual acitivities.
Thank you once again for the supporting Gugudan and we also sincerely apologize for this sudden news."
Gugudan debuted on June 28, 2016 with their 1st mini album 'Act. 1 - The Little Mermaid', and their last comeback was in November 2018 with the mini album 'Act. 5 New Action'.
