On December 20, YG Entertainment finally announced G-Dragon officially left the label following speculations about his contract renewal.
The split also comes after G-Dragon's recent drug abuse allegations, which police cleared him of.
In a statement posted on Big Bang's official website, YG said:
"This is YG Entertainment. G-Dragon is one of our iconic artists since he debuted with Big Bang in 2006. It's an honor to dedicate this time, time with him. We sincerely wish G-Dragon blessings for his new chapter. We look forward to receiving much support and encouragement from his fans. Thank you."
