TWICE (Korean: 트와이스; Japanese: トゥワイス) is a South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment and debuted on October 20, 2015. The group is composed of nine members: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu.


What does Twice Stand For?

Twice’s name refers to the act making an impact “once through the ears and once through the eyes.”


What Does the Fandom Name 'Once' Mean?

Once was announced in November 3, 2015, and it means "If you love us even once, we will repay your love with twice of our love.”

NAYEON (나연)

Full Name : Im Na-yeon (임나연)

Nayeon is the oldest member of Twice. She is one of the powerful vocalists in the group. Nayeon was signed by JYP Entertainment in 2010 and she auditioned without her parents knowing. She likes sweets foods, especially jelly. Her favorite colors are Khaki, Beige and Sky Blue.

JeongYeon is referred to as the group's embodiment of the "girls crush". Just like Nayeon, JeongYeon was originally chosen as a member of one of JYP Entertainment girl group called 6mix. She was first rejected by JYP in the audition, later she became a trainee after passing the open audition in 2010. Jeongyeon favorite foods are ddeokbokki and meat. Historic Moments

2015 Oct - Twice was formed under the television program 'Sixteen' and debuted. They made their official debut and release their first EP 'The Story Begins' with the lead single 'Like Ooh-Ahh' to promote. The song made a successful debut.


2015 Nov - Their debut song 'Like Ooh-Ahh' reached within the top 10 of various Korean music charts including Melon, Genie, and Naver Music. The music video for the group's single hit 50 million views on YouTube within five months and came one of the most-viewed debut music videos for any K-pop group.



2015 Dec - The group's early success earned them a "Best New Female Artist" award at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards.





2016 Apr - Twice released their second EP, Page Two, with the lead single "Cheer Up". They achieved the highest first-week sales volume by a Korean girl group for the year.


2016 Jul - Twice made their debut performance in the United States with an appearance at the KCON music festival held in Los Angeles


2016 Aug - 'Page Two' had sold over 150,000 copies, making Twice the first girl group having a sales record of more than 100,000 units that year. 'Cheer up' also became the group's first chart-topper in South Korea.


2016 Oct - Twice release 'Twicecoaster: Lane 1' and with the lead song 'TT'. 'Twicecoaster: Lane 1' became the best-selling K-pop girl group album for 2016


2016 Nov - The music video for their debut single "Like Ooh-Ahh" hit 100 million views on YouTube, making Twice the fourth K-pop girl group to reach 100 million views.


2016 Nov - Twice's 'Cheer Up' won Song of the Year at the 8th Melon Music Awards.


2016 Dec - Twice won Song of the Year award at the 18th Mnet Asian Music Awards.

2017 Feb - 'Twice 1st Tour: Twiceland – The Opening' was held on February 17–19 at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium.

2017 Feb - Twice released a special album titled 'Twicecoaster: Lane 2' with its lead single, 'Knock Knock'.

2017 May - Twice released their fourth EP titled 'Signal' with the lead track of the same name.

2017 Oct - Twice released their first full-length Korean album, Twicetagram, on October 30 with lead single titled 'Likey'.


2017 Nov - Twice then performed at 68th Kōhaku Uta Gassen, the top-rated annual year-end musical show in Japan produced by NHK, which marked the first time a Korean artist appeared on the show since 2011.

2017 Dec - Twice reissue of Twicetagram, titled 'Merry & Happy' with lead single "Heart Shaker".

2018 Apr - 'Twice Showcase Live Tour 2018 "Candy Pop"' was held from January 19 to February 1 in Japan.






2018 Apr - On April 9, 2018, they released their fifth EP, 'What Is Love?'. The EP sold 335,235 copies in the first month and made Twice become the first female artist and the fifth act to earn a platinum certification by the Korea Music Content Association.






2018 May - "Twice 2nd Tour: Twiceland Zone 2 – Fantasy Park' began in Seoul on May 18–20. The group's concert tour had attracted over 90,000 fans in six cities across Asia.






2018 Jul - Twice reissue of 'What Is Love?' named 'Summer Nights', along with lead single 'Dance the Night Away'. The single earned the group its very first platinum single certification for both streaming and download and made Twice the second act to earn a platinum certification.








2018 Sep - Twice released their first Japanese studio album, 'BDZ'. BDZ debuted at number 1 on the daily ranking of Oricon Albums Chart with 89,721 units sold, setting a record for the highest first day sales of albums released by a Korean girl group in Japan.









2018 Dec - Twice released a special album titled 'The Year of Yes', along with its lead single "The Best Thing I Ever Did", as a reissue of 'Yes or Yes'.







2019 Mar - Twice became the first female K-pop group to hold a Japanese dome tour. The tour Twice Dome Tour 2019 "#Dreamday" garnered a total audience of 220,000 during five shows in Japan.

2019 Apr - They released their seventh EP 'Fancy You'. The music video for 'Fancy', which garnered over 42.1 million views in a single day.

2019 May - The group held their first world tour titled "Twicelights" which was first held at a sold-out KSPO Dome in Seoul.

2019 Sep - Twice released their eighth EP, 'Feel Special' along with the music video. Recording sales of over 151,000 copies on September 30, 2019, Twice broke their own first-week album sales record with 'Feel Special'.


2020 Mar - The group has added two stops to their world tour "Twicelights" at the Tokyo Dome. Tickets being sold out within three minutes.

2020 Jun - The group's ninth Korean EP, 'More & More', was released on June 1 with a lead single of the same name. It makes the group became the best-selling girl group album in South Korea in 20 years.

2020 Aug - Twice held their first online concert titled "TWICE: World In A Day" in response to their 'Twicelights World Tour Finale' which had been canceled.

2020 Oct - The group released their second Korean studio album, 'Eyes Wide Open' with the lead single titled 'I Can't Stop Me'.


2020 Nov - Twice collaborated with the virtual girl group K/DA, with members Nayeon, Sana, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung being featured on the song 'I'll Show You'.


2020 Nov - The group made their US television debut with their appearance on the '#PlayAtHome' series of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on November 30, performing their song 'I Can't Stop Me'.




2020 Dec - Twice gave a surprise performance of their unreleased track titled "Cry For Me" which was described by the group as a present for their fans and officially released as a digital single on December 18.







The group's "Twice in Wonderland" online performance, which was initially announced on January 14th, took place on March 6th. The performance was broadcast utilizing a variety of technologies, including augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR), and it was held in collaboration with NTT Docomo.





Twice confirmed the release date for their forthcoming Japanese song "Kura Kura" at the conclusion of their online performance, which will take place on May 12. On April 20, "Kura Kura" had a pre-release on internet streaming services. On the same day, the music video was also made available.





On November 15, the group released the first five dates for the "III" leg of their fourth global tour. On December 25–26, they had a two-day concert in Seoul to kick off their tour. Twice became the first female K-pop act to perform two different arena tours in the greatest music market in the world with the successful conclusion of their seven-date U.S. leg of the "III" World Tour on February 27, 2022, drawing an audience of almost 100,000 people. Only one date was initially planned for Los Angeles and New York, but following the sellout, second concerts were swiftly added to both cities due to great demand.

The trio was also supposed to perform in the Tokyo Dome in Japan on April 23 and 24 for two days, but they added a performance on April 25 because all tickets sold out simultaneously with the opening sale. Twice became the first Kpop girl group and the second girl group overall (after AKB48) to play a three-day concert in the Tokyo Dome with three sold-out dates.

All members have their agreements with JYP Entertainment extended as of July 12.

On December 21, it was revealed that Twice would release their twelfth Korean EP, Ready to Be, on March 10, 2023, as well as a pre-release English single called "Moonlight Sunrise" on January 20, 2023. Twice's tenth Japanese single, "Hare Hare," whose release date was set for May 31, 2023, was revealed on March 22.
