2022 July – ADOR teased the debut of their new girl group by posting three animated videos with the numbers "22", "7", and "22", sparking speculation that the content will be released on July 22. 2022 Dec – On December 19, 2022, NewJeans made "Ditto" available as the first single off their first album, OMG. After spending thirteen weeks at the top of South Korea's Circle Digital Chart, "Ditto" broke a record. It was the first single by the NewJeans to chart in both the UK Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at numbers 95 and 82, respectively.
2023 Jan – OMG was released on January 2, 2023. Critics praised the album's retro-styled theme. It debuted at number one on the Circle Album Chart, selling 700,000 copies in its first week of release. It became their first album to sell more than a million copies, just before New Jeans also hit a million copies sold.
