ITZY is a JYP Entertainment female group made up of five members. On February 12, 2019, they made their debut with the digital single album "IT'z Different."
Members Historic
The members have prior professional experience before making their debut. In 2013, Chaeryeong competed in the SBS talent competition K-pop Star 3. She later participated in the JYP survival program SIXTEEN in 2015, however she was unsuccessful in joining the victorious girl group TWICE.
On the JTBC survival series MIXNINE from 2017 to 2018, Ryujin finished first among females but fell to the boys team in the championship round. Yeji competed on SBS's The Fan, but she was sent out in episode 5. With the exception of Lia, all of the members participated in the 2017 project group Stray Kids vs. Stray Kids on Mnet's reality series Stray Kids.
What does ITZY Stand For?
According to JYP Entertainment, ITZY "has" everything that fans wished for in an idol group. "ITZY" is another word for "have it" or "got it." ITZY really refers to the Korean word "있지" which means "there is," in English. What exactly makes the word "there is" so important? Also, Yeji responded, “It means that we have (itji) everything that everyone wants.”
What Does the Fandom Name 'MIDZY' Mean?
Etymology. The name is derived from the Korean word "trust" (믿어). The phrase "MIDZY" is said to signify that ITZY's supporters have faith in him and vice versa.

Historic Moments
The five members are revealed in a video teaser posted to the label's official YouTube page. The group's It'z Different first album, with the track "Dalla Dalla" as its lead single, was released on February 12. The group's "Dalla Dalla" debuted on the World Digital Song Sales chart at number two and peaked at number three, according to Nielsen Music, selling 2,000 downloads in the US in the week ending February 14.
Itzy won their first music program on M Countdown on February 21, eight days after making their debut. This broke the record for the quickest time for a girl group to win their first music show for a girl group.
The Itzy Premiere Showcase Tour "Itzy? Itzy!" was announced by JYP on September 22. The tour kicked up on November 2 in Jakarta and made stops in a number of Asian locations through the end of 2019 before performing five gigs in the US in January 2020.
The group received their first platinum certification after "Dalla Dalla" topped 100 million streams on the Gaon Music Chart in November 2019.
The music videos for "Dalla Dalla" and "Icy" are ranked second and seventh, respectively, on the list of South Korea's most watched music videos on YouTube. Itzy earned multiple Best New Female Artist prizes towards the end of the year, including at the 2019 Mnet Asian Music prizes and the 2019 Melon Music Awards.
The Itzy showcase tour's US leg kicked off the year. On January 17, 2020, they held their debut performance in Los Angeles. Itzy released It'z Me, their second EP, along with "Wannabe," the album's first song, on March 9.
Itzy released Not Shy, their third EP, along with the accompanying music video for the lead track of the same name, on August 17, 2020.
As part of their first worldwide livestream event, Itzy released the digital single "Trust Me (Midzy)" on March 20, 2021.
The song is dedicated to their fans. Release day for Itzy's fourth EP Guess Who and its lead song "In the Morning" was April 30.
Second Aunt KimDaVi and Itzy jointly released the digital song "Break Ice" on July 1, 2021, through VIVO WAVE, which was distributed by Genie Music and Stone Music Entertainment. Itzy would be making their Japanese debut with the EP What'z Itzy under Warner Japan, it was revealed on September 1.
The group issued It'z Itzy, a Japanese compilation album, on December 22, 2021.
The Japanese single "Voltage" by Itzy was released on April 6. Checkmate, Itzy's fifth EP, and its lead song "Sneakers," were both released on July 15. They will start their first world tour, the Checkmate World Tour, with performances in Seoul on August 6 and 7, it was also revealed.
Itzy released their debut English song "Boys Like You" on October 21 and their second Japanese single "Blah Blah Blah" on October 5.
Itzy released its sixth EP, Cheshire, along with the album's first song on November 30.
On July 31, 2023, Itzy released their seventh EP Kill My Doubt, led by the single "Cake".
