LE SSERAFIM, a group who performed brilliantly at a prominent American event, is being criticized for their lack of skills.
During their April 13 performance at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, one of the largest music festivals in America, LE SSERAFIM drew criticism for their lack of skill.
'1-800-hot-n-fun' is an unreleased song that LE SSERAFIM prepared for their Coachella appearance. They also had a unique joint performance of their title track 'UNFORGIVEN' with renowned American musician Nile Rodgers. They tried hard and were determined, but their voice skills were not considered good enough.
Regarding LE SSERAFIM's performance at Coachella, a commenter on ID Boss* remarked,
"Congratulations on making it to Coachella in such a short time, but it was definitely a stage with lacking vocal abilities."
They went on, "It was sad when the dance entirely broke down at the 'Smart' part of the song, but it carried on unabated until the middle of the show. The big company HYBE appears to be having trouble getting over the basic problems that arise from assembling a staff that is primarily concerned with performance and aesthetics too quickly."
Comparisons between BLACKPINK and LE SSERAFIM's performances are unavoidable since BLACKPINK was the first K-pop girl group to perform at Coachella in 2019 and garnered positive reviews for their performance.
Some internet users pointed out that a catastrophe like this could have been prevented if LE SSERAFIM had performed at Coachella after gaining more experience on big platforms, like a world tour.
In a statement issued on April 15, Source Music, a division of HYBE, said, "LE SSERAFIM successfully completed their debut stage at 'Coachella,' and the audience appreciated the performance with passionate cheers."
