To pursue solo endeavors and launch her agency, BLACKPINK's Jennie recently provided insight into her choice to split from YG Entertainment.
Filming for KBS 2TV's much-awaited music chat program 'The Seasons - Lee Hyori's Red Carpet,' which is hosted by iconic singer Lee Hyori, began on January 2 with Jennie making her debut as a guest. Since founding her agency, "ODD ATELIER," this is her first formal solo endeavor.
Lee Hyori asked a question about Jennie's motivations for starting her agency during the interview. Jennie went on to say, "I will continue to do group activities (with YG) but I wanted to do solo activities more freely so I carefully established (my label."
"There is a crew of people that were with me for a long time (at my label)," Jennie went on. I desired unrestricted access to all events and promotions."She also disclosed the purpose behind the name of her agency, "ODD ATELIER."
According to Jennie, "It includes the goal of succeeding although my route is unusual and unique from others'. In the future, please provide a great deal of help."
Jennie also conveyed her fondness for YG, saying, "I've been with the company since my trainee days, so I've learned a lot (from YG)." We still get along well with one another."
