Through The Boyz's official fan cafe, IST Entertainment revealed on November 14 that Sunwoo and a staff member had been physically abused by a Sasaeng, or obsessive fan. "We wish to address the repeated invasions of our artists’ privacy and the continuous threats to their safety," IST Entertainment said in the announcement.
“Unauthorized visits to places associated with the artists’ private lives, including the company building, stores, and even their home, as well as attending private events, spreading malicious rumors, persistently following members’ movements at airports—even on flights—taking photos and videos, following their vehicles, and illegally obtaining personal information to make contact,” the agency said. These behaviors have seriously harmed the artists' mental and physical health.
According to IST Entertainment, "On November 9, a Sasaeng who had been lurking in the emergency stairway on his apartment floor approached Sunwoo, a member of The Boyz, as he was leaving the elevator and heading to his front door after completing his schedule. Sunwoo reported the situation to our staff right away after feeling threatened by the Sasaeng, and they arrested the invader for trespassing and turned them over to the police.
The agency claims that Sunwoo and the employee were beaten repeatedly while trying to stop the intruder from fleeing. Police are presently conducting investigations into the Sasaeng's arrest on trespassing and assault accusations. According to the label, "Sunwoo and the staff visited a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment following the incident, and the agency is continuously monitoring their condition and taking necessary measures."
