In response to recent media allegations that claimed aespa member Winter had undergone surgery for pneumothorax, a representative of SM Entertainment has released a statement.
On April 12 KST, the SM representative stated, "It's true that Winter is recovering after surgery. Medical professionals recommended the operation as a preventive measure because the ailment is thought to recur easily, and the choice to have the procedure was made after sufficient consideration.
"All future schedules will proceed with Winter's recovery and condition being given priority consideration," the representative continued.
It was previously reported that on April 11, Winter underwent surgery for pneumothorax at a university hospital. Aespa's forthcoming itinerary includes a May comeback, as well as a June 29–30 start to their second world tour, "SYNK: Parallel Line," in Seoul.
