A new category for "Best Choreography" and updated criteria for "Album of the Year" have been announced by the "2024 MAMA Awards."

The "2024 MAMA Awards," a K-Pop award show presented by CJ ENM, have revealed the inclusion of a new award category and revised judging standards for some of its most esteemed accolades, including "Album of the Year."

First off, "Best Choreography" is a brand-new award category at the MAMA Awards this year. The prize will be given to K-pop choreographers and performers who have helped the genre become well-known worldwide by producing the synchronized dance steps and eye-catching performances that are its hallmark.

Next, the diverse popularity of musicians, songs, albums, and music videos will be reflected in the new judging standards created for esteemed categories. For instance, the "Album of the Year" category will now include the album's overall quality, including the production value, artwork and graphics, individual tracks, influence on the music business, and more, rather than just sales data.

In the meanwhile, the "2024 MAMA Awards" will begin on November 21 PST at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California. From November 22–23, KST / JST, there will be a two-day event in the Kyocera Dome Osaka in Japan. The '2024 MAMA Awards' nominees will be revealed on October 14 at 6:00 PM KST.
